Description:
The Business Development Officer role is to originate SBA 7a loans for the company through direct client marketing and intermediary referral sources within their designated geographic areas.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the growth of the SBA portfolio
  • Manage sales calls to prospective clients via telephone, email and in-person meetings
  • Build external referral sources and potential direct client leads
  • Continuous farming and marketing for new SBA loans
  • Screen potential commercial loans by analyzing documents and preparing loan pre-discussion summaries to be discussed with sales and credit managers.
  • Prepare loans for pre-discussion submission for LOI issuance
  • Assist underwriting officer with collection of documentation for loan approval and closing
  • Follow-up on all loans currently in underwriting
  • Attend industry specific events or conferences to promote the company and expand COIs
  • Participant in weekly pipeline meetings with management
  • Report and partner with marketing manager to achieve set goals and budgets

Requirements Education, Experience, and Qualifications:

  • Strong presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated success at new business development.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to learn and adapt quickly
  • Commercial banking experience a plus
  • Prior credit underwriting and structuring skills a plus
  • Knowledge of SBA SOP a plus
  • Ability to handle several complex tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to travel within assigned regional territory

Description:
Credit Underwriter is an entry-level position. Credit Underwriters are given an opportunity to learn the Lending process (financial analysis, underwriting, policy & procedure) as mentored by senior Underwriters.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Obtain all available and necessary financial data from the credit file or outside sources
  • Spread and analyze financial information of applicants – study and evaluate the information and prepare written reports for the lender
  • Underwrite loans under supervision of a senior credit underwriter or manager and presentation of financing request to senior management or Loan Committee for approval
  • Coordinates processing of approved loans; ensures loans are processed according to agreement, customer needs and conform to lending policies; obtains sufficient information and/or documentation from customers
  • Solves problems relative to processing and servicing of loans within his or her portfolio
  • Assume additional duties as requested

Requirements Education, Experience, and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting, or related field or equivalent experience preferred but not required
  • Minimum 1 year of credit analysis or equivalent financial analysis experience required
  • Good communication skills, both oral and written
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusion
